We expect to begin designing our programme in detail after Easter 2017. We will be asking everyone for programming ideas, and giving everyone an opportunity to volunteer to take part. We hope to have a form for that up on the web site before Easter. If you ticked the box when you joined the convention to say that you would like to participate in the programme, we will automatically contact you after Easter. In the meantime, if you would like to send us an idea or volunteer for programme, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our programme philosophy is very simple: we want to make every single programme item as good as possible. We will have items inspired by our guests, items about the hot topics of the day, and items that will come as a complete surprise. We aren’t going to create artificial themes, but some may emerge if a subject deserves more than one programme item, and we like it when programme items inter-relate.
The programme will put science fiction and fantasy at its centre, but we will also explore the surrounding penumbra of subjects that are related to them and to the interests of SF fans. We want to talk about climate change, gods, fandom, ethnicity, Star Wars, biochemistry, gardens, history, space opera, and fifty other subjects. There will be panels, workshops, games, talks, quizzes, music and frivolity.
We will remember absent friends and look to the future. We aim to be awesome.
We look forward to seeing the usual great range of costumes at Follycon, and we’ll be confirming details of costume-related programming as we get nearer to the con.
There will be gaming at Follycon! If you have any questions, or want to offer a game, contact us at email@example.com.
If you’d like to register an interest in space in the Dealers’ Room, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you’re interested in exhibiting at the Follycon art show, please email us at email@example.com.
Are you organising a convention or bid? Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org about a fan table.
There will be a crèche at Follycon. You can register interest on the membership when you join, or email us at email@example.com.
If you’d like to help out with the running of the convention, whether beforehand or on the day, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org letting us know what you’d be interested in doing. And thanks to those who’ve already done that! We will be in touch soon with everyone who has volunteered so far, and before too long there’ll be a form on the web site to help you to offer to help us.
